Importance of Scholarship
Scholarships are very important for college students, the main reason of course is because everyone needs money to help them pay their tuition and a scholarship will most definitely help out with that. Another really good reason on why it is important is because it will help parents out with money, many parents pay for their kids college tuition putting them in debt, butting receiving scholarships can help them out by reducing the price. Scholarships can also help with the cost of living on campus, this would make it easier for people that live far away from college because they wouldn't not have to spend as much money on gas. Different Scholarships can offer different things and when it comes down to it, it really is all about the amount of money you can save on college specially since college is a lot of money. Many people are in debt these days, scholarships can also help out students and parents by not putting them in more debt when in comes to paying for college.

What do we have left
All I have left to do to accomplish the things I need to get into the colleges is to take the TSI test and write a well thought out essay. These task will be done throughout the month of April and the beginning on May. The test might have to be done in the summer depending how busy I get due to graduation and other school activities. Academically I am where I am suppose to be I have made the right scores on my SAT to get in and I have a really good GPA which will also allow me to get into the colleges. I do believe that these are the college for me because one I wont have to pay much money, and two because they have to degree that I want to have once I have completed college.

School Opportunites
I do believe that the getting a college degree is worth the cost for economic and social success because if you want to make good money it normally requires some type of degree in order to accomplish that. These days many jobs require degrees even if it's just an associates. Having a degree gives you a good reputation because it lets people know that you took time to study in the specific type of work and this lets them know that you have much knowledge in that field. With a degree you can make more money, so even if it cost a decent amount of money to get one, eventually you will be able to pay it off and feel good about yourself knowing that you worked hard to achieve these things.
I would rate the U.S. school system really well when it comes to giving students opportunities compared to other countries. The U.S. is very generous when it comes to that, other countries such as Brazil give opportunities but you have to work really hard for it and its really all up to what your parents want you to do and what type of school system they put you in. The U.S. is not as corrupt as most countries so they are able to give out better opportunities to people when it comes to education. In Brazil the whole system is messed up and they really only care about looking good so they choose the best people that will make them look good, even if they have to be corrupt about it.

Spring Break
For spring break I did not do to much. On the first three days of my break I worked for about 24 hours, and on the last day I got my paycheck for $241! On Thursday I had a baseball tournament which we played two games. The first game we played against North Lamar and we tied 1-1. We should've won but one of our teammates couldn't get the sacrifice bunt down. The next game we played against Sagner, we got killed 12-2 because no one could hit the ball and we made some errors. On Friday I went to San Marcos with my friends, we floated the Guadalupe river and we ate at this restaurant called Gristmill. Saturday I slept in all day, when I woke up I decided to sit on the couch and watch TV for the rest of the day, it was my lazy day. Sunday I went to church, went out to eat, and then finished all the homework that I had to do during the break. I would say it was a pretty successful break.

Friday Post
1. The most influential leader I have ever had is my brother. He has had such a big influence on my life because first he is my brother, and second he is having a pretty successful life. My brother and I enjoy the same things so we get along very well.
2. What I think Mr. Keating means by this is that poetry isn't just something to take for granted, poetry is something that we live everyday, it is all around us, we just have to look for it. Yes I do agree with Mr. Keating. My views on poetry is that if you enjoy it you should read it and see it as Mr. Keating sees it. I believe we read it poetry to enjoy the literary elements of it.
3. I do agree because when most people read all they do is read it from the authors perspective instead of having thoughts about it yourself. I took another perspective of baseball once whenever I was hitting, instead of stressing out I saw it as an opportunity to have fun and enjoy the time I have playing high school baseball.
4. The verse that I would go by is Carpe Diem, so I can live my life and seize each day, one day at a time. The impression I hope to leave behind is that I was a leader to people and a very respectful person to teachers and students.

Thursday Blog
1. I do think that he would've committed suicide. Mr. Keating only influenced them to go for their dreams but his dad was so controlling that he couldn't do what he wanted. Even in the beginning he seemed like he was rebelling against his dad by taking classes that his dad eventually took him out of. This showed that he didn't really enjoy life and that he had no hope to do what he wanted to do.
2. I believe Knox was the bravest of Mr. Keating students because he was not scared to do anything once he heard Carpe Diem. He shot for his goals and didn't give up until he achieved them, which was getting the girl of his dreams. The most coward one of the boys was Cameron, he didn't want to live like the other boys and when it came down to it he blamed everything bad that happened on Mr. Keating.
3. I do think Mr. Keating put it their because he was the one who started that society and he would be the only to have the book. I believe he gave it to him because he knew that Neil would step up as a leader and start the society again, he wanted the boys to think for themselves and he wanted them to do what they thought was right.

Theme for Dead Poet's Society
I think the central theme for Dead Poet's Society is Carpe Diem. It was spoken throughout the whole movie and each character went by that saying whenever they wanted to do their own thing. I believe by seizing the day they were able to do conquer things that they would've never thought was possible. Each of them had a fear of something such as their parents or girls or getting in trouble, but once they understood the real meaning of Carpe Diem they realized they only have one life to live and that they need to take any opportunity that came to them. Even when they remade the secret society club in the cave they were living their life with a risk. They knew that if they get caught they could get in trouble but the whole point of it was to go out and do things that seem fun but also risky. They were all able to learn that things don't just come to you, you have to have to courage to go out and get it yourself otherwise you wont get anywhere in life.
